Accommodation
Each participant takes care of their own accommodation. Bratislava offers numerous options as for hotels, hostels, Airbnb flats etc. (Hostels cost approximately 10-15 EUR per person in dorms, double rooms on Airbnb are about 20-30 EUR per night). The idea of the Polyglot Gathering is to enable the community to spend as much time together as possible and that’s why we support group bookings. If you’d like to stay with other fellow polyglots and don’t know anyone yet, watch this website and the Facebook event later on and we’ll help you get organized so you can stay where other participants are staying.
If you are interested in one of the proposed hotels, please indicate it in the registration form or write to zuzana.dohnalova@polyglotbratislava.com.
We couldn’t book hostels for this purpose in advance but we did get some reduced prices in hotels. These are the following:

Hotel Dominika***

The hotel is located close to the Unversity of Economics (about 2 km from the university) in the Petržalka city quarter (the one below the Danube river), close to the Petržalka railway station, and shopping centre AUPARK (also 2 km).
A very nice hotel for a reasonable price, with buffet breakfast. There is a tram stop about 500 m away for getting to the old town, walking takes around 30 minutes. Hotel offers a restaurant, hunting saloon, pizza café and a pub. Hotel parking and a relax centre with sauna and jacuzzi are included in the price. Supermarket next door.
- From Bratislava railway station to the hotel: tram No. 1 from the stop “Hlavná stanica” to “Jungmannova” (15 minutes).
- From the hotel to the University of Economics: bus No. 88 from the bus stop “Jungmannova” to “Ekonomická univerzita” (8 minutes) or 25 minutes by foot.
- From the hotel to the Bratislava city center: tram No. 1 (10 minutes).
Hotel Viktor***

A newly-built, modern hotel, close to the centre of Bratislava. Rooms are equipped with modern furniture.
Cosy, new-built hotel offers a high accommodation standard. It is situated in a quiet residential area. You get to a city centre quickly by bus. Beautiful and spacious rooms equipped with quality and modern furniture. Wi-Fi in each room. Only 500m from Petržalka railway station, through which all trains are heading to Austria. Comfortable parking in an underground garage. The hotel has its own restaurant, bar, coffee-bar and lounge.
- From Bratislava railway station to the hotel: bus No. 93 from the stop “Hlavná stanica” to “ŽST Petržalka” (15 minutes plus 5 minute walk to the hotel)
- From the hotel to the University of Economics: bus No. 99 from the bus stop “ŽST Petržalka” to “Bulikova” (20 minutes – 500 m walk to the bus stop “ŽST Petržalka”) or bus No. 88 from the bus stop “Kremnická” to “Ekonomická univerzita” (13 minutes – 400 m walk to the bus stop “Kremnická”)

Botel Gracia***

A boat hotel facility in the centre of Bratislava right on the Danube river. It is situated directly opposite the historical centre. The botel offers free Wi-Fi and is very easily accessible by public transport.
Spacious, new and elegant, floating on the river Danube right in city centre. Only a 3-minute walk to the old town and the Bratislava Castle. Situated opposite the Slovakian National Gallery. Free Wi-Fi.

The Marina botel anchors below the Bratislava Castle on the Danube river, 8 minutes’ walk from the Old Town. Free Wi-Fi included.
Cosy and inexpensive, situated upon the Danube River, only 10-minute walk to the old town and the Bratislava Castle. Plentiful breakfast is a buffet self service, free Wi-Fi. Botel offers twin beds in a small cabins. Finding a parking lot can be a bit of a challenge.

You can of course book your own hotel, hostel or an Airbnb flat. We’re going to try and help if you would like to stay with other participants but do not know anyone.
Food
There is a possibility of having lunches at the Gathering venue together with other participants. When registering for the Gathering, you can choose whether you would like to order them or not. You can of course use the lunch breaks to go out and eat at places of your choice. However, please bear in mind that there are not many restaurants close to the university, and you will most probably need to use public transportation to get to them.
Also, the common meals are a great possibility to hang out with fellow polyglots outside of the lectures and get to know new people. The canteen is a very cozy place to get together and use the Gathering to its fullest potential.
